Since 2000, Caro Jost has been creating streetprints worldwide, documenting the fast pace of time, place and space in her image-making. Streetprints are imprints of street and pavement reliefs. The environment itself becomes the motif and at the same time the real print template for her works on canvas. In this way, streetprints function as concentrates of the past in the now. By collecting these traces, Caro Jost immortalises past events and creates documents of time. Over the past 22 years, the artist has visited well over 100 cities and worked on site. A selection of this long-term project can now be seen at CAS.

  • Caro Jost studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and at the Art Students League, New York. Before that, she completed a degree in literature and law at LMU. Jost lives and works in Munich and New York.
  • The sociologist Julian Müller heads the research project "Re/Presentation. New Forms of Political Address and Advocacy".

Dr. Julian Müller will give the introduction at the Vernissage on the 27th of October 2022.
